Meet Karen
Karen Wall is the Vice President, Fresenius Kidney Care HR Strategy and Integrated Services, who leads with inside-out change and feels lucky to be in a role that enables her to be empathetic and compassionate with employees, and physicians, and patients. Karen leads a team of trusted advisors who lead with business acumen and simultaneously align to the expertise of Human Resources.
LET’S HEAR WHAT SHANNON HAD TO SAY:
Q: Why did you join the FMCNA team?
A: The company mission and values attracted me, and the Employer Value Proposition (EVP). I also was intrigued by the HR People Strategy and wanted to be part of a dynamic team of Trusted Advisors.
Q: How do you feel that your role is a “vital part” in supporting our patients and our company?
A: The key to patient experience is caring people, caring for people. I provide value along the employee life cycle to enhance the employee experience, which has a correlation to the patient experience. I deliver value by providing viable solutions to human capital matters that impact the bottom line, reputation of the company, and sustainability of the organization.
Q: Describe an experience or feeling that stands out when thinking of your career with FMCNA, it could be in relation to one of our four pillars (below) or simply a story that describes why you do what you and why you choose FMCNA to do it with.
A: In 2015, when I joined Fresenius Kidney Care was in the early stages of launching a change management and culture transformation entitled Leading with Values. I was fortunate to be part of this experiential learning from the beginning as a workshop facilitator. I partnered with Fresenius Kidney Care Operations leaders to deliver dynamic workshops to other leaders, and it was a life-changing experience. We became united around what matters most, role modeling core values and changing our way of being to Serving Leadership. Through this work, I was asked to create and lead the delivery of Customer (Patient) Experience experiential learning with the Vice President of Marketing and Customer Experience. This was a year-long initiative that was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. It is the foundation for the current patient experience training.
