LET’S HEAR WHAT TANEESHA HAD TO SAY:
Q: Why did you join the FMCNA team?
A: Honestly, it was because everyone was so friendly from the very beginning. I worked at a few companies before where that was not the case. It was a breath of fresh air, and when coming on board, my views of the company have not changed. As a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), I look at and work with the business in a strategic manner, but I also service the business to the fullest extent that I can. I am the business support system, I connect them with contacts and information, help resolve issues, etc. I like to call myself “the includer” because that is really what my job is all about.
Q: What played into your decision to leave FMCNA?
A: The type of flexibility that I needed at the time; the business couldn’t provide as it would have caused constraints on them, which were understandable. I needed to be able to work from home a few days a week since I had some family matters that I needed to attend to. And at that time, the FMCNA team just didn't have the infrastructure to make such an accommodation work. I know that FMCNA does their best to accommodate and be as flexible as possible to their employees. But ultimately I made a tough decision to leave because it is what my family needed at the time.
Q: What opportunities did you pursue outside of FMCNA?
A: I pursued the flexibility to work from home that I needed at the time and received it. But as it turned out, the culture was not like Fresenius Medical Care, which led to another hard decision about leaving that role after five months of leaving Fresenius Medical Care.
Q: You are now back at FMCNA – how did that happen?
A: Relationships. The one thing that is huge at FMCNA is the relationships that you can build from the janitor to the Senior Vice President quickly. I worked in a group where relationships are crucial and that happens to be my strongest suit. As long as you have an excellent work ethic, are responsive, and you assist your clients, relationships will come easy. I worked very closely with my business partners during my time with FMCNA, and when I asked to come back, they said yes without hesitation.
Q: What impacted your decision to return to FMCNA?
A: Everyone wants work-life balance. And everyone also wants to see themselves in an environment they enjoy every day. If you do not have joy in your current organization, then you may also have to make an important decision too. This is what impacted my decision to return to FMCNA - I enjoy every minute of my day here. To give you an idea of my dedication, on my last day when leaving initially, most people choose not to work the entire day. Still, I did and worked over because that is how dedicated I was to FMCNA, the groups I supported, and I did not want to leave anyone in a pinch.
Q: What has your transition back into FMCNA been like?
A: I am happy to be back! I am a Human Resources Business Partner, which is something I was always drawn to, but having a degree in Finance, I had to find alternative methods until I reached my goal. I like who I work with and the groups that I support. It is challenging, but it is also fun! Since then, FMCNA now has better infrastructure to allow me to work remotely when I need to so I have more flexibility as well.
Q: What would you say to someone considering a return to FMCNA?
A: That’s a tricky question because not everyone’s experience was like mine, but if you have a way to get back in and you are nervous about asking, DO IT, all they can say is No.
Q: Do you feel that you have a powerful effect on your role? If so, how?
A: Absolutely! I am not physically “saving lives,” as Sam Trevino says, but figuratively I am by guiding our clients to make decisions that are best for their teams and, ultimately, the company. I take pride in what I do each day, and my hope is that is what is shown to my clients.
