Q: Why did you join the FMCNA team?

A: Shortly after obtaining my MSN in Nursing Education, I began searching for career opportunities. I knew I wanted to use the knowledge I had gained during my educational journey, but I did not realize in what capacity until I was presented with the opportunity to work for Fresenius Medical Care as a Home Therapies RN.

Fresenius has a very welcoming environment, and I instantly felt right at home during my interview! The staff embody the company’s core values and provide excellent care for their patients. I learned that in my role, I would be responsible for providing education for patients to empower them to perform their dialysis treatments in their home on their schedule. I knew that this was a calling that the Lord had placed precisely in my path, and it is a blessing that I have been grateful for ever since!

Q: How do you feel that your role is a "vital part" in supporting our patients and our company?

A: In my role, I am able to provide my expertise and experience to shape the education that is distributed to the field. Although I am no longer involved in direct patient care, the work that I do every day impacts the lives of our patients through our highly skilled staff.

Q: Describe an experience or feeling that stands out when thinking of your career with FMCNA, it could be in relation to one of our four pillars (below) or simply a story that describes why you do what you and why you choose FMCNA to do it with.

A: I initially began working for Fresenius as a Home Therapies RN in early 2018. I quickly realized how meaningful this role was in the field of nursing because I was able to impact the lives of my patients in a holistic manner. Working in Home Therapies, I was able to utilize my nursing expertise to impact and empower my patients throughout their dialysis journey while also collaborating with members of the IDT to care for the entire patient and address all of their needs. In my current role as a Senior Manager Clinical Education - Learning Content and Solutions, I am able to impact my patients in an entirely different manner. The work that I do on a daily basis helps to provide staff with a sound background of training to enable them to provide high quality, safe patient care. Collaboration is key to the success of this organization; the input of individuals from all disciplines is extremely valuable and contributes to excellent care for each of our patients!
