 Meet Allison

Allison Leibowitz is a Project Coordinator with the Fresenius Medical Care North America Clinical Services team. She has been with the FMCNA family since 2012 and has had a number of different roles in her career with us. She feels her team is at the heart of the organization delivering high-quality care to our patients. Read on to learn more about Allison.

LET’S HEAR WHAT ALLISON HAD TO SAY:

Q: Why did you join the FMCNA team?

A: I joined FMCNA in 2012 as an Administrative Assistant for Fresenius Kidney Care Clinical Services.  I connected with the team I interviewed with and respected the vision and mission of the organization. I have been blessed with managers and colleagues who are both dedicated to our patients and our mission while being collaborative and encouraging of my work and my career goals.

Fresenius Kidney Care leaders truly lift others.  They are transparent and make themselves accessible, welcoming employee input and communication.   I recently became a certified Project Manager, thanks to the support and encouragement of our Clinical Services team leaders, and beginning this year, I am enrolled in a graduate program in Health Management and Informatics.

Q: How do you feel your role is a “vital part” in supporting our patients and our company?

A: I feel that our FKC Clinical Services team is at the very heart of our organization, delivering high-quality care to our patients.   Each day our team works tirelessly and with incredible compassion to support our staff on the frontlines and improve patient care.   Every single day is different, and I learn something new still, even after eight years.  The dedication of my colleagues and our frontline staff is inspiring and motivates me to work harder.

Fresenius Kidney Care has built a culture of support and giving though the Employee Resource Groups, and through many Community Service outreach programs we can participate in each year. I have always been proud to work for Fresenius Kidney Care, but the leadership and care for our patients and staff through the Pandemic this year has been above and beyond and has made me feel even more dedicated to my work to our company.  I work specifically for Clinical Services Initiatives. I am consistently inspired by the innovation and improvements implemented by our team and across the organization, and the pro-active work ethic that abounds.

Q: Describe an experience or feeling that stands out when thinking of your career with FMCNA.

A: I am on my second year serving as the Community Service Chair for our Fresenius Kidney Care Women’s Employee Resource Group.  This has been an incredible opportunity for me to grow and network with others in the company and other business units.  Fresenius Kidney Care does a great job of maintaining a culture of support and collaboration across the organization and embraces a growth mindset.

There are mentoring programs, an abundance of opportunities for professional development and networking, and many opportunities throughout the year for a variety of community outreach events.   For example, each year, we participate together in the National Kidney Walk.  Clinical Services has a tent at the event where we greet patients and families participating in the walk and answer questions and disperse giveaways.  This event is incredibly moving and a great reminder of why we do what we do each day.   To meet the patients and families, talk with them one on one, and hear their stories firsthand makes my day to day work more meaningful.

I enjoy the variety of work in my days at Fresenius Kidney Care.  Since the company is vertically integrated, there are opportunities to learn all aspects of the business and understand how those businesses intersect and collaborate to bring the highest quality of care to our patients. For such a large company, there are many opportunities to develop relationships and build your work family.  Colleagues are consistently welcoming, collaborative, and helpful.

I look forward to growing, learning, and developing my skills with Fresenius Kidney Care in my years ahead!
