Meet Jacob
Jacob Rose has been a Patient Care Technician with us since 2012. Jacob had previously left Fresenius while awaiting new opportunities with our organization to open up. He has since returned to the fold and is grateful to be back with his unit, as are we! Throughout his tenure Jacob has seen new clinics open in rural areas to better service patients in the region, clinics have been remodeled to keep up with the times, and a distribution center has opened to more efficiently serve our clinics and patients. Much has transpired over the years, Fresenius' dedication to ensuring the best for our patients has not waivered. Read on to learn more of Jacob's story - of leaving, coming back, and thriving!
LET’S HEAR WHAT SHANNON HAD TO SAY:
Q: What made you initially choose Fresenius Medical Care and an employer?
A: It was an advancement in my career and an opportunity to learn more about health care whilst helping patients along the way.
Q: What played into your decision to leave FMCNA?
A: I had left one position and came directly back to the company. The option wasn’t as much of a choice to leave the company; but, rather, to come back as a different position as I was awaiting a position to open within the area.
Q: What opportunities did you pursue outside of FMCNA? Please speak to what impact this experience had on you/how it compared to your time at FMCNA.
A: I worked part time with local hospitals as a phlebotomist. Large entities do not tend to take good care of their employees – though Fresenius Medical Care North America has not had an issue with this.
Q: You are now back at FMCNA – how did that happen? Please speak to what lead you back to FMCNA
A: My option wasn’t to leave in the first place. Now that I’m back, I’m thankful to have my team/family back. Working together was paramount for both my clinic’s team and I. We get along together well and I was fortunate to have another opportunity at the clinic.
Q: What impacted your decision to return to FMCNA?
A: Security, benefits, and constructive collaboration.
Q: What has your transition back into FMCNA been like? Are you happy to be back? If so, why?
A: I’m most happy to be back with my unit. Coming back to the clinic was a bit strenuous in regard to dealing with the state nursing boards and making sure everything is up to date. Aside from that, I have no complaints.
Q: What would you say to someone considering a return to FMCNA?
A: I would say “You’re not making a wrong decision by coming back to the company. You know as well as I do that, you’ll be well taken care of here. Count your blessings.”
Q: What current project(s) is your business working on that is helping FMCNA to lead, innovate, and succeed?
A: Fresenius Medical Care is always finding ways to help their staff and patients equally. From building a new distribution center, orchestrating 5k’s for donations to the National Kidney Foundation, or offering scholarships and tuition assistance for employees and their children… Fresenius ensures that everyone is included on a team whose main goal is to Thrive On.
Q: What is it about your business that sets FMCNA apart from its competitors?
A: Education is a master key in our company. FMCNA never leaves anyone in the dark with a new policy or update - which we all know happens frequently. The safety and security of their patients and employees remains paramount to the company as a whole and Fresenius will ensure that everyone has the tools that we need to continue forward with success.
Q: Has your business experienced recent growth? Tell us more.
A: Within the last decade, I’ve seen our company build four new dialysis clinics and remodel 3 others within our region. Reaching out into rural areas of our state has not stopped our company from helping our patients survive from day-to-day. Additionally, they have created local jobs by opening these new clinics. Security has never felt so safe.
Q: How is your business helping to change healthcare, dialysis care, or how patients thrive? How is your business making a difference and raising the bar?
A: Patients in ESRD tend to carry with them a sense of burden and fear. Fresenius Medical Care doesn’t fall short on comforting our patients by giving them a sense of control. Whether it is allowing them to dialyze at home, with the assistance of continuing education from our home therapies or having a say in what happens with their treatments in-center… we make sure we that our patients are not lost with their feelings. You won’t find this kind of personalized care elsewhere.
Q: What do your co-workers like about working at FMCNA?
A: Our coworkers like the security and benefits that FMCNA has to offer - all the while working with other members of our team. We are a family. For that, we’re all most appreciative of one another.
Q: What would you like to share with job seekers about your business?
A: FMC is a large company that does not turn a blind eye to its employees. I have been treated very well over a number of years and I have most happy to be a part of their team. An employee of FMCNA will never find themselves unappreciated or with their voices muffled. That is important for everyone when you find yourself looking for work.
