Meet Kevin
Kevin Baldwin is an Area Manager II with NxStage Home Therapies, a subsidiary of Fresenius Medical Care North America. Kevin initially joined Fresenius because he was impressed with FMCNA’s commitment to quality and innovation in their portfolio of Dialysis Products. He made a difficult decision to leave the company for a short time but returned when he realized that he missed being a part of an organization that has a direct, positive impact on patient’s lives every day. FMCNA is second to none when it comes to our employee's commitment to having a positive impact on our patients. Learn more about Kevin's story.
LET’S HEAR WHAT KEVIN HAD TO SAY:
Q: Why did you join the FMCNA team?
A: I wanted to be a part of the Fresenius team for several reasons.
- It was appealing to be part of an organization with products that have a direct, positive impact on patient’s lives and it is rewarding to be able to see those patients thrive.
- I was impressed with FMCNA’s commitment to quality and innovation in their portfolio of Dialysis Products.
- I wanted to be part of a cohesive region of professionals; committed to delivering results and enjoying success.
Q: What played into your decision to leave FMCNA?
A: Several things within the market I covered significantly changed over time. After a lot of careful consideration, I made a very difficult decision to pursue a new opportunity.
Q: What opportunities did you pursue outside of FMCNA? Please speak to what impact this experience had on you/how it compared to your time at FMCNA.
A: I remained in medical sales outside of the dialysis industry. I feel the experience outside of FMCNA broadened my sales expertise, but I missed the direct patient impact we have in dialysis.
Q: You are now back at FMCNA – how did that happen? Please speak to what lead you back to FMCNA
A: I joined NxStage around the early phase of FMCNA’s acquisition. The same reasons I originally joined the organization led me back to NxStage. Quality products, innovation, a cohesive team atmosphere with a good company culture & being able to see a dialysis patient’s life improved because of what we do.
Q: What impacted your decision to return to FMCNA?
A: The NxStage team and the commitment everyone has to our therapy and the positive impact we have on patient’s lives. It is an inspiring team I feel fortunate to be a part of. I also had a very positive experience with my managers and co-workers from my previous time at FMCNA it made returning very appealing.
Q: What has your transition back into FMCNA been like? Are you happy to be back? If so, why?
A: The transition back has been great. I am extremely happy to be back and contributing to growing home therapies for NxStage. Everyone has been very welcoming and eager to help me in whatever way possible.
Q: What would you say to someone considering a return to FMCNA?
A: My return experience has been 100% positive and continues to be a very rewarding career decision.
I would encourage someone considering a return to reach out team members and ask a lot of questions. It will help them determine if a return would be a good mutual fit.
Q: Do you feel that you have a powerful effect in your role? If so, how?
A: I absolutely feel I have a powerful effect. We are instrumental in helping patients, doctors, nurses, social workers, and others in dialysis understand the benefits of more frequent home therapy.
Q: Have you experienced professional growth with personal meaning in your role? If so, how?
A: My previous FMCNA experience combined with new learning opportunities at NxStage have helped me grow professionally. We also get top notch, ongoing training through various methods. I have also benefitted from being part of different teams to help on projects as well.
Q: Do you feel you or your team/department leads, innovates, succeeds? If so, how?
A: We have a very cohesive team in the Central Region and everyone in the group is eager to share ideas on innovation and demonstrated best practice. Our Region is intensely committed to growing home therapies and sharing the benefits of more frequent dialysis.
Q: Do you feel that your role allows you to be a partner in caring? If so, how?
A: We interact frequently with patients that have better lives because of what we do. It makes my role extremely rewarding and enables me to be a partner in caring.
