Meet Stephanie

Stephanie Cruz is our Senior Regional Recruiter for FKC in the Tennessee Valley. From landing an internship to making an impact, Stephanie has found her footing in recruiting the best candidates for Fresenius Kidney Care. Read more on her story on how she grew at FMCNA and how that has impacted her over 4 years.

LET'S HEAR WHAT CASEY HAD TO SAY:

Q: Tell us a little about you- what brought you to FMCNA, what keeps you here, what is your story?

A: In 2010, while finishing my bachelor’s degree (as an adult student), I made the decision that I was going to find a job I loved, something with more meaning. I made the taboo decision to leave my then-current job in banking without having another job. I had high expectations – I thought I would find work right away. I was wrong! Months and months passed, dozens of submitted applications, and I could not get a hit. During this time, I realized how much our work (or lack thereof) is tied to who we are, our confidence, and our self-esteem. While job searching, I came across Workforce1, which is a New York City’s resource to help job seekers with career counseling, resume assistance, and securing employment. I loved their mission and what they offered. I knew I wanted to seek out their help, but even more than that, I wanted to work there! I knew the struggle with finding a job – and I knew I could help other New Yorkers.

Soon thereafter, they were going to be at a job fair at my school. So, I put on my best suit, grabbed fresh copies of my resume, sharpened my elevator pitch, and set out to land this job. A month later, I was hired as an intern in the Workforce1 Manhattan office. Three months later, I was officially hired as a Career Advisor. I worked my way up through the years, eventually leaving to join Fresenius Kidney Care as the Senior Regional Recruiter for our Tennessee Valley Region. What I love about Fresenius Kidney Care is that everyone loves what they do. From the secretary to the area directors, and the truck drivers to the senior leadership, everyone has a passion for their role. We all know we hold a special place in the company, no matter what it is. We are all supporting the health and wellbeing of our patients – and that, in turn, makes us all happy. Everyone here works hard – and I love that! We know we are a part of a larger mission, and that is so rewarding. I love working for Fresenius Kidney Care!

Q: What do you like about recruiting for FMCNA? What choose to recruit for FMCNA over another company?

A: I love recruiting for Fresenius Kidney Care because these are meaningful, career positions that offer so much satisfaction. We take so much pride in caring for our patients.  Our company offers so many career paths – the possibilities are endless. Also, as an employee, I know Fresenius Kidney Care cares for its employees. I know my new hires are joining a team with integrity and value, so I take great pride in my role.

Q: What do you want candidates to know about FMCNA?

A: We are a great company that offers training! Too often I hear candidates not wanting to apply because of a lack of dialysis experience. Interested in dialysis?  Apply!

Q: Why should FMCNA be considered an employer of choice?

A: I feel that I have a powerful effect in my role because I am the first line of communication between a candidate and Fresenius Kidney Care.  I aim to have a friendly, open conversation with my candidates and ensure they have the best experience with their hiring.  I know what it is like to be in their shoes!  I leave no questions unanswered, and make sure to follow up as soon as possible.  Additionally, by building a strong partnership with my hiring managers, I can ensure we hire the best fit for each of our roles.
