LET’S HEAR WHAT KEVIN HAD TO SAY:
Q: Why did you join the FMCNA team?
A: I joined the Fresenius Kidney Care team because I wanted to align myself with the industry leader in dialysis patient care. I feel a tremendous sense of fulfillment knowing that our team’s efforts are supplying the talent that is directly treating our patient population. When I joined Fresenius Kidney Care in 2015, we had just completed a phased rollout of a full cycle recruiting function, and I was greatly attracted by the idea that I could play a role in building a best-in-class talent acquisition team.
Q: How do you feel that your role is a “vital part” in supporting our patients and our company?
A: I believe my role is acquiring our company’s most defining and vital component, our care team. My role directly supports the staffing of clinics, hospitals, and home therapy environments. I feel a sense of responsibility to establish Fresenius Medical Care as a premier employment opportunity in the healthcare industry, and to build an employment brand that attracts the very best clinicians. My role is that of a business partner to our General Managers and Group Vice President, and I play a vital part in guiding their talent acquisition strategies while allocating the appropriate resources to meet their operational goals.
Q: Describe an experience or feeling that stands out when thinking of your career with FMCNA
A: When tragedy occurs, as it inevitably does, it affords us the opportunity to come together and support those in need. While I was managing the Gulf Coast group in 2017, one of our teammates was heavily impacted by Hurricane Harvey and the flooding that occurred in Houston. This teammate lost much of her personal property, and sentimental items that can’t be replaced, and she was without living accommodations for her and her family. The organization's disaster response team was setting up temporary living and supporting teammates with necessities. After coordinating with my General Manager, I was able to notify the disaster response team that she needs our help. I’ll always remember that call and that tremendous feeling of being able to provide some light in her dark time. When she picked up the phone, I could hear the stress and worry in her voice, but when I told her that the company found her housing and many of her other needs, she broke down into tears of gratitude & relief. This also brought me to tears, and all I could mutter was, “don’t worry, we got you.”
I do what I do with Fresenius Kidney Care because I sincerely believe the organization stands by its people, and subsequently, that motivates me to go above and beyond the responsibilities of my position.
Q: Have you experienced professional growth with personal meaning in your role?
A: Since joining Fresenius Kidney Care in 2015, I have developed and grown tremendously in my career. I have learned new recruitment technologies, participated in meaningful projects, been promoted, and taken on many additional responsibilities. Most importantly, and with the deepest personal meaning, is the new relationships that have been acquired because of this opportunity.
Q: How has your previous roles in your career compared to your current role at FMCNA?
A: There are some great companies in the dialysis industry, and I’ve enjoyed a decade worth of experiences within two of the industries’ best. The sense of purpose in my work, camaraderie with my colleagues, and being able to grow in my role have been realized with Fresenius Medical Care more than I could’ve ever imagined. The fact is that Fresenius is the leader in this space, and it is most displayed in how they can invest in you. If you join us, you’ll discover that there’s no limit to what we achieve together. I’m proud to call myself an employee at Fresenius Kidney Care, and I encourage you to explore your career possibilities with us.
