Meet Rosalyn

Rosalyn Hoskins is a Clinical Manager in our Dunn North Carolina location and has had quite the journey with the Fresenius Medical Care Team. She started as a Patient Care Technician with no Medical Experience to a Clinical Manager thanks to the RN Tuition Program with Fresenius Medical Care. Keep reading on to learn more about Rosalyn and her inspiring story.

LET’S HEAR WHAT ROSALYN HAD TO SAY:

Q: Why did you join the FMCNA team?

A: I was a single parent looking for a solid full-time job with benefits. I was referred by a Church member who was a Patient Care Technician at the clinic where I started.

Q: How do you feel that your role is a “vital part” in supporting our patients and our company?

A: I feel that I am the master clock for my facility and that it is my job to make sure that the staff provides safe quality treatments.

Q: Describe an experience or feeling that stands out when thinking of your career with FMCNA.

A: I am very passionate about working for Fresenius Medical Care and being able to make a difference in people’s lives with just the simple act of caring. I have been in dialysis for 29 years so my children have been around it their entire lives. I like to think that some of my passion has rubbed off because two of my children now work for Fresenius Medical Care. One is a Biomed II and the other is a Clinic Secretary/CCHT.

Q: Do you feel that you have a powerful effect in your role?

A: I do feel I have a powerful effect as a Clinical Manager. It is my responsibility to lead by example. I hold my own conduct to the same level as my expectations for my team. 

Q: Have you experienced professional growth with personal meaning in your role?

A: I was hired in 1991 as a Patient Care Technician with no medical experience. After 11 years in that role, I transitioned to the clinic secretary position which led to my position as Assistant to the Regional Vice President. I had a strong desire to go back to school for nursing so I returned to a clinic secretary position.

During my last year in the RN program, my husband passed away after a brief illness which left me to care for our four children while still trying to work and attend school. All I can say is that I am so thankful that I was allowed to participate in the RN Tuition Program or I would not have been able to financially continue with school and support my family. I successfully completed the RN program and went on to hold the position of Staff RN, Charge Nurse, and finally Clinical Manager in Dunn where I have been for the last 10 years.
