BECOME A VITAL PART OF IMPROVING THE LIVES OF OUR PATIENTS
At Fresenius Medical Care, one of our four pillars centers around Professional Development. We learn, develop, and progress knowing that the skills we perfect and the mission we support have a significant impact on individual lives. One individual we are proud to call a Fresenius Employee and who fully embodies this pillar, Shaun Hamblin.
Shaun C. Hamblin's Story
Shaun's military journey began in 1996 while he was still enrolled at Texas Christian University. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant through the AFROTC. Shaun served 2.5 years as a Personnel Readiness Officer/Deputy Personnel Chief at Cannon AFB, NM before taking the lead as the International Student Training Chief at Randolph AFB, Texas in 1998. He was promoted to Captain in 2000 and became Executive Officer for the Operations Support Squadron before returning to Texas Christian University as Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies in 2001. Shaun served his last three years of active duty teaching and molding Cadets to become future Officers. This experience of teaching young men and women had a powerful effect on Shaun and was a skill he would come to use later in his career.
After separating from active duty in 2004, Shaun transitioned into the Air Force Reserve where he was assigned to the United States Air Force Academy for 13 years as an Admissions Liaison/Congressional Liaison Officer. While in the position, Shaun was able to use his passion and skill for Professional Growth yet again and undoubtedly had a profound impact on the lives and careers of many individuals. Shaun helped over 75 students earn appointments into the United States Air Force Academy Academy.
Shaun attained the rank of Major and officially retired from the Air Force in 2017. At the same time he transitioned into the reserves, Shaun also began to look for civilian employment. Shaun was looking for an organization that gave him a sense of purpose and one that thrived on collaboration, respect, compassion, and empathy, all traits he had learned to value during his time serving our country. He was referred to Fresenius Medical Care by a colleague who was in the role of Area Manager at the time. As evident by the recommendation is given by Shaun's colleague and by Fresenius's track record of supporting active and non-active Military personnel, it is clear that Fresenius Medical Care places major value on the unique skills and experiences that only Veterans possess.
