Systems Engineer III

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The level Engineer III mayperform engineering tasks in various assignments as part ofFresenius R&D team. The Engineer IIIhasbroad knowledge of engineering techniques/skills and shall be capable of leading/managing small number of less experienced engineers/technicians in implementation of engineering solutions torealize innovative products and product improvements. The Engineer IIIshall be capable of undertaking high level tasks and effectively work with Cross Functional Teams(CFTs), under minimal supervision,toproduce expected outcomes.The Engineer III seeks constant improvement to improvethe quality of processes and products. The Engineer III shall possess the engineering skills and background to contribute significantly different phases of product development phases such as concept, feasibility, and development. The Engineer IIImaybe tasked to train, supervise ormentor less experienced engineers, technicians, and employees.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and design products, processes, or equipment for projects.

  • Execute engineering tasks in multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Effectively work within the scope of a subassembly project

  • Obtain and apply thorough understanding of design control and relevant design principles.

  • Apply risk management process within scope of work.

  • Provide hands-on support for various engineering aspects of the project, perform feasibility studies for proposed design, systems or processes and prepare technical presentations to development team.

  • Lead proof-of-concept and feasibility efforts, and drive studies and experiments. 

  • Draft work instructions (WI), SOPs, engineering reports, drawings, and necessary documentation in order to release design changes.

  • Design, define, implement and / or test complex system requirements; develops integrated solutions in consideration of scientific, engineering, manufacturing, and service disciplines.

  • Analyze complex, multi-disciplinary technical issues encountered during the operation and use of instruments.  Develop, test, recommend and implement corrective actions to address these issues.

  • Act as a project lead for minor projects assigned (concept through release).

  • Authors testing plans, engineering test reports, and position and/or white papers using good documentation practices.

  • Offers ideas and potential inventions to be used in new products.

  • May aid/guideEngineer II and Engineer I staff with general tasks 

  • Seeks senior level staff or supervisory assistance with higher level problems that may arise.

  • Assistsmanufacturingsites with set-ups, adjustmentand operationtraining on production equipment and evaluates analysis instruments.

  • Maintain assigned documentation and design history files per established standards.

  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degreein related Engineeringor scientific disciplinerequired; advanced degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 4+ years related experience.

  • Master’s Degree with 3> years’ related experience.

  • PhD Degree with Postdoctoral related experience.
